“A gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.” For me this really nailed the tone and vibe. Bill Skarsgård is completely unrecognizable, and does something that I really didn’t know he could do. There is a character choice with Count Orlok that I questioned the entire movie and I’m still not sure how I feel about it. There’s also an over acting aspect to this, but almost like the source material calls for it. There’s almost does seem like something was missing but can’t quite put my finger on it, and still very much enjoyed this.
